These assays leverage next-generation sequencing (NGS) and circulating tumor DNA technologies to provide comprehensive genomic insights that help guide therapy selection, monitor minimal residual disease, and inform treatment decisions for patients with cancer.</p><p></p><p>As a Staff Pathologist, you will play a key role in the interpretation, validation, and clinical reporting of molecular diagnostic results while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across laboratory operations, bioinformatics, clinical development, and medical affairs. Our Phoenix laboratory is CAP-accredited and CLIA-certified, performing high-complexity molecular testing that supports precision oncology initiatives and clinical research programs.</p><p></p><p>This role follows a digital workflow/ hybrid model, with physicians working approximately three weeks remote and one week per month on-site in Phoenix to support laboratory operations, case sign-out, and collaboration with the local team.</p><p></p><p>We are growing our team and have multiple openings available!</p><p></p><p><b>Essential Duties</b></p><p>include but are not limited to the following:</p><ul><li>Provides diagnostic pathology expertise through the review and interpretation of laboratory data and tissue specimens in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and quality standards.</li><li>Interpret and sign out solid tumor molecular diagnostic cases</li><li>Interpret and sign out IHC biomarkers (PDL1, HER2)</li><li>Perform H&E assessment of tumor cellularity</li><li>Contribute to assay validation, workflow optimization, and quality improvement initiatives</li><li>Provides pathology professional services to support pathology related questions from stakeholders; including, but not limited to, Medical Affairs, Customer Care, pathologists, oncologists, laboratories, and other clinical providers.</li><li>Models positive relationships with key internal collaborators through regular connections and participation in periodic meetings with teams like Histology, Lab Operations, Customer Service, Medical Affairs, Accessioning and Information Technology to ensure high quality and efficient operations.</li><li>Understands Exact Sciences’ Laboratory Management requirements, which are informed by Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) and College of American Pathologists (CAP) regulations.</li><li>Participate in the development, optimization, and implementation of new procedures for pathology and histology function.  </li><li>Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform keyboarding/mousing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.</li><li>Ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 10 pounds within the typical working day.                                                                             </li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Minimum Qualifications</span></b></p><ul><li>Doctor of Medicine (M.D.).</li><li>Board-certified in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology.</li><li>Completion of a Surgical Pathology and/or Cytology Fellowship.</li><li>3+ years of clinical practice experience.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic surgical pathology skills.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to provide a strong patient-centric and customer service orientation.</li><li>Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.</li></ul><p></p><p><b><span>Preferred Qualifications</span></b></p><ul><li>Arizona License to practice medicine.</li><li>Subspecialty training in breast, urologic, or molecular pathology in a prior industry.</li></ul>#LI-JR1<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:left">Salary Range:</p>$227,000.00 - $341,000.00<p style="text-align:inherit"><i> </i></p>The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location.
