Join LEGO as a Senior Manager, Energy and Sustainability Specialist where you will lead innovative energy solutions, improve sustainability practices, and work with diverse teams to develop a carbon-neutral manufacturing site. The Facilities organization at LEGO Manufacturing Virginia (LVA) is part of WS&O, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of all site buildings, utilities, and workplace environments. The team supports the factory’s mission to create a premier, carbon-neutral manufacturing site that embodies LEGO Group’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and employee experience. The Senior Manager, Energy & Sustainability Specialist role plays a key role in driving energy performance and sustainability across the site. Through data-driven insights, technical expertise, and close collaboration with engineering, operations, and partners, the role ensures environmental performance and resource efficiency are fully coordinated within daily operations. This supports operational perfection and long-term environmental ambitions. This role is about making environmental efficiency and resource management work in practice—translating data into action, supporting operations, and continuously improving how the site performs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical implementation of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives, including renewables
  • Monitor, analyze, and optimize energy consumption, carbon emissions, and sustainability benchmarks
  • Ensure adherence to environmental laws and LEGO sustainability governance.
  • Plan, organize, and schedule design, maintenance, construction, renovation, and repair of facilities and equipment
  • Collaborate with partners across the Workplace Solutions & Operations (WS&O) team
  • Support and maintain ISO-aligned systems (ISO 50001 / ISO 14001)
  • Prepare cost estimates for building renovations or space allocations
  • Evaluate completed work for conformance to specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Energy Engineering or related field is highly desired for technical expertise in energy systems and sustainability frameworks.
  • Experience with ISO 50001 and ISO 14001.
  • Strong technical knowledge of energy systems and sustainability frameworks.
  • Utility Metering: Knowledge of utility metering strategies and sub-metering architecture.
  • Expertise in energy data analysis and carbon tracking.
  • Familiarity with US environmental regulations and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience with renewable energy technologies.
  • Experience with energy management systems (EMS)

Nice-to-haves

  • BMS/SCADA integration or digital energy platforms.
  • Familiarity with LEED and WELL Building Standard frameworks.
  • Experience working in greenfield or commissioning/start-up environments.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems like Planon for asset and energy data integration.
