About the position

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a highly motivated and proactive market research analyst for the Commercial Vehicle Development Department. HATCI's Commercial Vehicle Planning Team addresses a wide range of commercial vehicle segments from light-duty Class 2b vans/trucks up to heavy-duty Class 8 tractors/trucks. The position involves reviewing commercial vehicle market research materials (sales/production forecasts, competitor technology trends, economic indicators, and policy/regulation) and developing analyses on the implications and recommendations for Hyundai. The role also includes coordinating the logistics of custom research clinics/studies with partner research firms and collaborating with cross-functional teams to align commercial vehicle development planning with North American market requirements. This role supports the corporate goal of delivering the best vehicles for the North American customer through regional technical leadership and local/global collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze commercial vehicle sales/production forecasts, competitor technology trends, economic indicators, and policy/regulation, and translate market intelligence into strategic recommendations.
  • Coordinate with partner research firms, managing the end-to-end execution of research clinics/studies (recruiting, logistics, moderation, and deliverables) to ensure that research objectives are met on time and within budget.
  • Own research quality and stakeholder alignment as the primary HATCI contact throughout research studies, providing guidance to partner research/consulting firms and course correction as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (global R&D, global corporate HQ, North America R&D, North America corporate HQ) to develop research objectives, study scope, and interview guides for research clinics/studies.
  • Represent HATCI at industry trade shows/conferences, while building relationships with key industry players, and identifying emerging customer needs and competitive threats.
  • Support executive decision-making by delivering reports and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations for Hyundai strategic planning.
  • Monitor regulation and policy landscape across Class 2b through Class 8 commercial vehicles, including emissions standards, zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) credits, safety homologation, fuel economy standards, and more.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including purchasing requests, timecards, and travel arrangements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Analytics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in market research, business intelligence, or product planning, preferably in automotive, commercial vehicles, aerospace, or other engineering-driven industries
  • Ability to analyze datasets and reports and translate them into strategic insights
  • Proficiency in planning, executing, and monitoring projects
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Flexibility in handling multiple projects and changing priorities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
