<div><strong>Job Description</strong><br/><br/>Join AbbVie's Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team as a Directory Services Lead, where we empower our partners to succeed by delivering the knowledge, tools, and support needed to leverage data and technology securely and effectively. As part of our Identity & Access Management (IAM) team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our enterprise-wide IAM strategy.<br/><br/>As a key member of AbbVie's Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team, you will help drive the strategic design and implementation of enterprise authentication and directory services across both on-premises and cloud environments. <strong>This hands-on, architecture-focused role is dedicated to ensuring the integrity, resilience, and modernization of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity, and PKI platforms, empowering partners to confidently leverage technology while maintaining robust security standards.</strong><br/><br/><strong>This position can be remote anywhere in the U.S.</strong><br/><br/><strong>In this role, you'll be responsible for:</strong><br/><ul><li>Architecture design and strategy for enterprise directory and authentication services.</li><li>Design, secure, and modernize Microsoft Active Directory environments, including forest and domain architecture, trusts, and security hardening</li><li>Leading and developing team of Engineers responsible for directory services across on-premises and cloud environments</li><li>Design and enforce modern authentication strategies, including: Conditional Access policy architecture, MFA and phishing-resistant authentication, Reduction and elimination of legacy authentication, and Alignment with Zero Trust principles</li><li>Collaborating with domain architects to build resilient, scalable, and secure identity frameworks</li><li>Ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.</li><li>Collaborating with other departments to integrate identity solutions and troubleshoot complex issues</li><li>Producing technical position papers and design recommendations that span hybrid deployments and enhanced security posture and operational efficiency</li><li>Maintaining comprehensive documentation including architecture diagrams, policies, procedures, and runbooks</li><li>Staying current with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in identity management and authentication.</li></ul><br/><strong>Experiences that make you a strong candidate for this role:</strong><br/><ul><li>Proven experience in architecture and design related to Active Directory, Entra ID, AWS Identity Center, and other directory services technologies.</li><li>Strong leadership and team management skills.</li><li>In-depth knowledge of security policies and standards.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.</li><li>Demonstrated success in managing complex identity projects.</li></ul><br/><br/><strong>Qualifications</strong><br/><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree with 8 years' experience; Master's Degree with 7 years' experience; PhD with 3 years of experience.</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.</li><li><strong>Proven experience with minimum of 5 years as an Identity Architect or similar role, with expertise in Active Directory, Entra ID, and modern authentication technologies.</strong></li><li>Previous experience leading cross-functional teams.</li><li>Deep understanding of IAM principles, directory services architecture, and lifecycle management.</li><li>Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to issue resolution.</li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence and collaborate across teams and leadership levels.</li><li>Demonstrated ability to drive strategic initiatives and influence executive decision-making.</li><li>Work experience in the pharmaceutical industry beneficial</li></ul><br/><br/><strong>Additional Information</strong><br/><br/>Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: <br/><ul><li>The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
