Sr. Investment Financial Analyst

The Senior Investment Financial Analyst at Forest Lawn, Glendale is responsible for conducting and delivering in-depth investment research, financial modeling, and analysis to support capital allocation decisions, portfolio performance, and strategic initiatives across the organization. The primary focus of this role will be on investments as they pertain to financial modeling performance and potential. What Youll Be Doing Conduct quantitative and qualitative investment analysis on current and prospective opportunities including equities, fixed income, private equity, real assets, and alternative investments. Build and maintain detailed financial models, scenario analyses, and valuation assessments, such as discounted cash flow (DCF), leverage buy-out (LBO), and comparables. Evaluate the financial performance of investments and generate actionable insights for portfolio optimization. Research and prepare economic reports to analyze the rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment opportunities, investment performance, and impact of governmental requirements. Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and industry developments to inform best investment strategy. Evaluate the funding of future business projects. Collaborate with senior leadership to support strategic decision-making, capital allocation, and risk management. Prepare investment memos, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders and investment committees. Make recommendations to management regarding proper investment opportunities. Interface with various departments to gain an understanding of activity presented on statements whether monthly, quarterly, etc. Support the process of gathering/collecting documents necessary for tax return preparation. Plan and lead special projects to completion. Research and prepare operational/workflow analysis including appropriate flowcharting and other data visualizations to facilitate effective communication. Prepare clear and concise written reports, analyses, and presentations using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other visualization applications to present information and data in a meaningful way. Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action initiatives. Analyze financial information to determine present and future financial performance. Identify trends and recommend improvements to inform business strategy. Direct preparation of studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts. Establish databases of pertinent information for use in analyzing future plans and forecasts. Manage multiple projects with a high degree of organization, timely execution, and in alignment with strategic objectives. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts, contribute to process improvements, and best practices. Participate and facilitate in a collaborative environment where information and skillsets are shared. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field required. Master's degree such as MBA preferred. Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) or progress toward CFA designation strongly preferred. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, or asset management required. Strong proficiency in Excel, financial and investment modeling, and data analysis tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex financial concepts clearly using presentation tools, such as Power Point. High attention to detail, analytical rigor, and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Experience in portfolio management, investment policy development, or institutional investing. Familiarity with Environment Social Governance (ESG) investment frameworks; sustainability metrics is a plus. Knowledge of SQL or Python for financial data analysis is advantageous. Ability to work a hybrid schedule with majority of time on-site. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
