About the Job: Type: Full time/ Temporary - 3 Month Assignment Wage: $55,000 - $65,000 based on experience Shifts: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Flexibility required: Tuesdays may require extended hours based on business needs. Location: Remote, Canada Requirements: Must be based in Canada and experience supporting Canadian payroll operations required Summary Compile and audit employee time and payroll data for weekly payroll cycles. Timely payroll related query responses. Essential Functions - Payroll Functions: Responsible for the processing of weekly payrolls Balance and reconcile weekly imported payroll to Audit Log, ensure no duplications Verify received payroll data for accuracy and compliance utilizing system reports for audits; communicate with managers of any discrepancies which needs further clarification, adjustment, or approval Ensure internal payroll controls are adhered to - this includes, but is not limited to adhering to Ryder Internal Audit processes; where applicable, validating that overtime is being calculated properly; reviewing audit reports, researching high overtime hours and reviewing vacation payments - Assist managers, employees, HR and locations with inquiries related to payroll - Perform payroll output processes for weekly cycles, including Record of Employments and Notices of Separation - Assist with special projects and backup for the other payroll cycles, as required Additional Responsibilities - Performs other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities - Ability to quickly respond to changing assignments, work settings and prioritiesMulti tasking & dealing with ambiguity - Demonstrates problem solving skills - Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in French written and verbal communication skills (preferred) - Ability to listen, write, and speak effectively Inform, explain, and give instructions - Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors) - Ability to maintain confidential information - Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure - Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices - Ability to work independently and as a member of a team - Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlookintermediate required - Strong knowledge of payroll practices intermediate required - Working knowledge of Workday beginner preferred Qualifications - H.S. diploma/GED required - Vocational/Professional diploma preferred in accounting related studies - Vocational/Professional diploma preferred in Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification via Canadian Payroll Association - One (1) year or more with payroll working knowledge required - One (1) year or more in payroll processing for 1000+ employees preferred - 0 to One (1) year with multi-provincial payroll preferred - 0 to One (1) year in Workday environment preferred - Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook. intermediate required - Strong knowledge of payroll practices intermediate required - Working knowledge of Workday beginner preferred - Other Payroll Compliance Practitioner Travel None DOT Regulated None Job Category PayrollThis posting is for an existing vacancy.
