eCommerce Category Manager

As the e-Commerce Category Manager, you’ll lead a team of digital channel experts responsible for optimizing and delivering a digital first merchandising strategy across all views for both the core and marketplace businesses. You will need strong people development skills, analytic skills and the ability to build strong cross functional partnerships. This role will leverage your ability to proactively drive operational improvements around consistency, efficiencies and tool/process development/optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional partners from core category businesses, marketplace, digital channel management, enablement, and technology teams to drive the results of your team and the online customer.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you’ll do
  • Manage team priorities by providing clear direction, assessing current and upcoming workload and utilizing data for adjustments.
  • Optimize and inspect business processes and day-to-day business operations focused on driving online business results (traffic, conversion, attach and revenue).
  • Manage the development, optimization and sustainability of processes and documentation with an emphasis on business activities, roles and responsibilities.
  • Drive the short-term and long term strategy/planning for resources and the evolution of the work.
  • Influence cross-functional business leaders in managing the operational changes, issues, risks and operational results.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including regular meeting rhythms and future planning to anticipate and support business needs.
  • Act as a key business contact within the digital channel management team for respective categories.

Basic qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in e-commerce, retail, operations, analytics, demand planning or merchandising
  • 3 years of experience influencing and managing cross-functional disciplines
  • 2 years of experience developing and executing strategic initiatives that drive business goals
  • Experience in project management, process enhancement, or standard operating procedures

Preferred qualifications
  • 4 years directly and indirectly leading teams
  • 4 years of experience leading cross-functional groups to isolate business opportunities and drive the most efficient outcomes
  • Proficient technical aptitude with a demonstrated ability to think critically and strategically
  • Proven ability to effectively execute executive-level communication both verbally and in written form with leadership, management, team members, and cross-functional partners
