JOB SUMMARY

The Transportation Courier works in conjunction with the Administrative Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, RN and LPN. The Transportation Courier performs daily transportation services to LTC residents. Performs a variety of basic resident cares when they are being transported for the comfort of the residents. The position demonstrates a high standard of CNA practices while coordinating transportation services with other resident-related activities. Transportation Courier work is reflective of CCH mission, vision and values and will integrate departmental goals for improvement across the care continuum. He/She practices within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act, Wyoming Department of Health and CMS guidelines.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

  • Performs daily transportation and courier services for residents and facility.
  • Communicates resident changes or concerns to the Charge Nurse of respective unit.
  • Addresses resident care concerns on a daily basis.
  • Encourages cost saving for the department and organization.
  • Provides service excellence to all customers in accordance with AIDET and Excellence Every Day.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, positive interpersonal relations in high volume. High traffic fast paced work environment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment.
  • Performs routine cleaning tasks.
  • Completes van competency and transports residents as needed.
  • Fills Helios portable oxygen machines utilizing appropriate PPE.
  • Transport specimens and/or documents with organization.
  • Demonstrates efficient time management and prioritization skills.
  • Adheres to CCH policies and procedures.
  • Complies with safe driving practices.
  • Complies with the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program including, but not limited to, the Code of Conduct, laws and regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Must be free from governmental sanctions involving health care and/or financial practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Education
    • Graduate of a state- or board-approved CNA training program.
  • Licensure
    • Current Wyoming CNA license required.
      • Must be registered with the Wyoming Department of Health CNA Abuse Registry.
    • Valid, unencumbered driver’s license required.
      • Must meet hospital driving eligibility requirements and be approved on the hospital driving list.
