Job Summary The Senior Transportation Operations & Analytics Analyst serves as a strategic bridge between transportation operations; TMS technology and business analytics. This role is responsible for driving measurable improvements in transportation performance by leveraging advanced analytics and deep Transportation Management System (TMS) expertise. The analyst translates transportation data and system outputs into actionable insights that inform operational decisions, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Job Description CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Own and drive TMS optimization efforts across inbound transportation, including configuration, enhancement, and ongoing performance tuning, in close partnership with Transportation Operations and the Medline IT team. Serve as a functional TMS subject matter expert Interpret and analyze complex transportation datasets (from TMS, ERP, and related systems) to identify cost drivers, service gaps, network inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities. Translate analytical findings into actionable business recommendations, clearly articulating operational and financial impacts to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership. Design and support advanced analytical models, scenario analyses, and simulations to evaluate transportation strategies, capacity planning, mode optimization, and network changes. Partner cross-functionally with Logistics, Distribution, Procurement, IT, and external carriers to improve transportation execution, resolve systemic issues, and enhance end-to-end process efficiency. Develop and enhance reporting, dashboards, and KPIs using Excel, SQL, and BI tools to provide visibility into transportation performance and support data-driven decision-making. Stay current on transportation technology trends, regulatory changes and proactively identifying opportunities to improve tools and processes. Discovering new opportunities to influence the use of transportation data and TMS features across the Operational business functions. ADDITIONAL RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Strong hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems, with deep functional knowledge of Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) strongly preferred. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), with the ability to work directly with large, complex datasets. Proven ability to analyze, interpret, and explain system-generated results to non-technical stakeholders. Strong understanding of transportation processes, including inbound logistics and execution workflows. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills. The anticipated salary range for this position: $85,000.00 - $128,000.00 Annual The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
