Universal Orlando Resort believes in-person collaboration is key to our success. Many of our Team Members work in a hybrid capacity, contributing from the workplace a minimum of three days per week. JOB SUMMARY:


Responsible for daily advisement, technical support and conformance for team member safety and health, and environmental stewardship by fostering the implementation of the EHS Management System, EHS Standards, and associated processes. Partner with EHS Health & Safety, Environmental Affairs and Assurance functions to gain understanding and support conformance with these elements. Responsibilities include management (including quality control) of documents and records, evaluation of established EHS processes and practices, evaluation effectiveness of prescribed controls, communicating findings and contributing factors, responding to emergent incidents, and effectively using a range of EHS tools and practices to aid the business to mitigate risk, reduce incidents and drive conformance in all areas of EHS.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform and document assigned inspections to identify conformance gaps caused by a breakdown in the EHS Management System. Evaluate for effectiveness of prescribed controls, training, standards and other management system elements. Seeks immediate and root cause for corrective action and preventive mitigations for non-conformances. Evaluates conditions or behaviors for EHS risk as part of inspections.
  • Execute and document incident investigations, as assigned. Evaluate for effectiveness of prescribed controls, training, standards and other management system elements. Seeks immediate and root cause for corrective action and preventive mitigations. Evaluates incident causes for EHS risk.
  • Verify and document complete findings closure and evaluate for effectiveness of initiated corrective actions to mitigate immediate and root cause.
  • Build relationships as a “trusted advisor” to influence management teams’ understanding of regulations, “partner facing” EHS process, and Standards. This is accomplished through timely investigations, inspections and management meetings. Provide guidance on EHS performance by understanding the causes of nonconformity, prescribed control effectiveness, and methods to improve EHS standards and processes.
  • Actively respond to and participate in the EHS on-call, audit and other EHS process as assigned, continually identify hazards, make observations and stop work when there is imminent danger.
  • Conform to internal EHS processes, procedures, and the EHS Code of Professionalism. Take action collaborate with EHS peers, share resources, foster communication, and remain aligned to a single EHS vision and mission with one set of established goals and objectives. Consistently and accurately, document incidents, actions, and nonconformities using the prescribed EHS Applications and processes.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

SCOPE:


Environmental, Health & Safety advisory support for assigned division, area, shift, and/or project to include consultation and making decisions of a moderate nature. Work is complex with both known and changing contexts and within broad but established standards. Liaise with other EHS functional area experts related to environment, industrial hygiene, construction, fire, standards and assurance, training and safety operations.
