The candidate should thrive and be an authority in the booth, know how to let the content decide the format, understand top story treatment, and excel at urgent production style and conversational writing.<br /> We're looking for more than a show stacker! The candidate will lead all aspects of the production of a newscast. You may assist with digital, social, and breaking news coverage. Shift includes mornings. Responsibilities include, but not limited to writing, producing, and editing content. Must have a strong understanding and ability to incorporate the web into daily coverage.<br /> RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:<br /> • Originate, research, lead, write, produce, and edit news segments for television and digital platforms.<br /> • Collaborate with CBS Detroit's team to ensure seamless coordination and execution of news.<br /> • Work both in the control room, demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast-paced situations.<br /> • Flourishes with change and innovation, constantly seeking new ideas and approaches to connect with our audience.<br /> • Assist in the station's goal of growing digital-first content.<br /> • Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced.<br /> • Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills.<br /> • Other duties as assigned.<br /> BASIC REQUIREMENTS:<br /> • 2+ years of experience as a line producer<br /> ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<br /> • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Broadcast Journalism or related field preferred<br /> • Excellent organizational and communication skills required.<br /> • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including overnight schedules, holidays, and weekends.<br /> • Must be a team player and able to work under deadlines and have the ability to multi-task.<br /> <br /> What We Offer:<br /> • Attractive compensation and comprehensive benefits packages.
