Job Summary

The Manager, Social Media is responsible for developing and executing AMC’s social media presence across owned channels. This role translates strategic vision into actionable content plans, manages day-to-day operations of social platforms, and ensures all activity aligns with brand objectives. The position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a deep understanding of social’s role within the broader marketing ecosystem

This position is based in Leawood, KS and is not eligible for relocation.

What you will be doing:

  • Execute social strategies across all owned channels, identifying opportunities for activation and optimization.
  • Ensure all social content supports brand goals and objectives.
  • Develop original content and leverage user-generated content to foster AMC’s brand voice.
  • Identify storytelling opportunities to engage audiences.
  • Manages the social media calendar, balancing evergreen campaigns and promotional initiatives.
  • Use insights and data to optimize content performance.
  • Manages project requests from internal partners and collaborations with content creators.
  • Coordinate content scheduling and publishing across platforms.
  • Provides creative ideas, leads brainstorms, and manages creative production when needed.
  • Monitor and report on performance of evergreen campaigns and promotional initiatives.
  • Generate monthly reports with insights and actional recommendations.
  • Track progress against goals, objectives, and Key Performance Metrics (KPMs).
  • Manage external agency partners for community management.

What we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • 4+ years of professional social media and marketing experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a social media manager capacity.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube and Snapchat.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms, their algorithms, audiences, and best practices.
  • Ability to align social media activity with business objectives in a strategic, goal-oriented way.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to successfully manage a robust content calendar.
  • Provide business perspective in the creative development of engaging social media posts.
  • Excellent communication skills with impeccable spelling, grammar, and editing skills to effectively influence guest engagement.
  • Ability to identify and recommend emerging social media trends and the relevancy of AMC marketing messages.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to draw insights and make data-driven optimizations.

  • Passion for film and deep knowledge of upcoming movie titles and trends in the entertainment industry.
  • Enthusiasm for variety of social media channels and active user.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Expertise with social media management software for planning, publishing, and reporting.
  • Experience developing and publishing organic brand social content.
  • Knowledge of social media analytics and reporting.
